Bourbon caramelized onions
Cut the onion into rings. Take a frying pan, preferably a pan. Brown the butter, add the onion rings at a low temperature. When the onion rings separates and they become soft and shiny you pour on some Bourbon and add a little bit of sugar, pepper and salt and stir.
Once you have stirred properly - raise the temperature a bit so that the alcohol evaporates. When the onion rings have been browned, they are ready to put on your grilled burgers or sausages.
